Momma Makeover

There is a woman at the beginning of all great things.

Alphonse de Lamartine

So, along with the physical changes that I will be making this year, I will also be making changes to our household as well.  Small things that I hope to make a big difference in the way that we operate.  It was easy for me to decide on one change, meal planning.  I couldn’t wait to get back to meal planning like I used to prior to tiny human #2 joining us.  I swear by it.  After feeding my husband sandwiches for about 7 months straight at LEAST 4 times a week, the fact that he has stuck around means I must be doing something right (or that I make a damn good sandwich).

Another thing that we have decided to incorporate is chores for Colby.  He actually loves to help.  I guess we all did at some point, before we HAD to help right?  I think it will help him learn some responsibility and help him understand his part of his contribution to the family.
We have decided that we will probably be in our house for about two more years while we take care of some debt and save money.  Therefore, instead of just powering through those two year being miserable in our tiny house and being unorganized, I have slowly but surely made some changes.  I started with our bedroom.  New bedding, lamps, mounted the television on the wall, and got rid of some stuff.  I still want to get rid of more, and I really want to go back to the Container Store and design a closet system for our bedroom closet, like we did for the nursery.
I’m sure you have heard or seen on Pinterest the 52 week money challenge.  I’m going to do that too.  It’s simple, you just follow the list and put in the listed amount of money for that week and then at the end of the year you have a jar full of cash.  Who wouldn’t want that!!  You start with $1 the first week, $2 the second week and so forth.  So far, I’ve got $1. I’m thinking about getting $20 in ones just to through into my mason jar to make it look like I’ve got something.
I will keep filing ya’ll in on the changes we are making.  It’s all pretty exciting, at least for me : ).  There are more to come, and hopefully everyone will be on board. If they aren’t….. eat a sandwich.

  1. Omg! I started the 52 wk challenge and the plank challenge and all these challenges lol! Go for it girl! And I am meal planning, my bf is diabetic so I’m trying new stuff so please share any healthy recipes! The twins aren’t too picky either 🙂 it’s out year lets do it!
