Super Side Dish Saturday: Parmy Pasta

Parmy Pasta:

Ingredients:

Angel hair/ Spaghetti

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

1/4 bread crumbs

1-2 garlic cloves

4 tbs butter

Parsley

This recipe came together one night while I was making dinner.  I felt like I was a side dish short, and needed to come up with something that I could throw together quickly.

This dish is totally customizable to you and your family.  I only used a half a pound of pasta because there is only three of us, you may want to use the whole pound to feed your whole family or company.

Bring water to a boil, salt water heavily.  Throw in  dried pasta.  I always break mine into thirds since I have a smaller mouth to feed.  (Colby’s not mine, we all know my mouth is anything but small)

Boil pasta to package directions, about 7 minutes.  Drain pasta, reserving about 1/4-1/2 cup of pasta water.

In your saucepan, add butter, melt, then add mined garlic.  Saute for about 3 minutes, be careful not to scorch garlic.  Return noodles to saucepan, toss with butter and garlic.  Once noodles are coated evenly, toss in bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.  The amounts for the bread crumbs and cheese may vary depending on how much pasta you are making.  Keep in mind I only made a half pound.  Start with this amount and eyeball the amounts to what looks yummy to you.

If you are serving from the pan, like we did, then throw in the parsley and toss.  If you are serving in a platter then sprinkle your parsley on top, for color and prettiness : )
