I love tortellini. I will even eat it plain. I have made tortellini one million ways, and this one seems to be what I always come back to. So easy, quick, and delicious.
Saucy Cheese Tortellini
1 bag frozen cheese tortellini (you can use any kind really)
1 jar favorite marinara sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 350. Use an 11×7 baking dish. Butter sides of dish, or spray with nonstick cooking spray. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil, and boil frozen tortellini for about 5 minutes. Drain. In sauce pan heat marinara sauce through, and then remove from heat. Add in heavy cream and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese, stir. Combine sauce mix and tortellini, and toss to coat. Pour into greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and a few cubes of butter. The butter isn’t necessary, but I mean what isn’t better with butter right?
This dish is also versatile. You can simply add in cooked italian sausage or cooked ground beef to make it a bit heavier.
This is also a great money-saving meal due to the inexpensive ingredients and lack of meat.
